Camping trip package prices for eight gorges, and the parts of a reserved stay
Camping trip package prices on this site are written the same way everywhere: one figure for two people for the whole stay, with the campground's own mandatory charges already inside it, then the same figure halved per person. Taxes are the only mandatory addition for two people, and the campground or inn adds them; an extra guest, a dog or gate entry is shown separately in the quote.
Nights times rate, plus the campground charge
Each figure is the nightly rate of the quietest weeknight in that gorge's season, times the nights of the trip, plus the campground's own charge per stay, rounded up to the next ten dollars. Platform tents carry a charge of $35 a stay for linen, cleaning and the first firewood; campground cabins carry $25; inns in our figures add nothing of their own.
The nightly rates are the office's calibration, set from the range of campgrounds and inns in each area and adjusted for the season. No campground has promised them. When you ask, the quote gives you the campground's own rate for your dates, and that replaces the figure here.

Inside each of the twenty-four figures
- All nights of the stay, for two
- The campground's mandatory charge, where it has one
- The office's planning and written quote
What stays out of the figure
- In New York, sales tax and the county occupancy tax; in Pennsylvania, the hotel occupancy tax and the county hotel tax. The campground or inn adds them at its own rates
- The drive, fuel, tolls and parking
- Meals other than an inn's breakfast
- Entry charged at a gorge gate, and any guided outing you arrange yourself
Weekends that push a figure up
When a campground publishes a lower rate for real dates, it appears among the camping getaway deals near Rochester. Saturdays in July, October color weekends, the busiest summer weekends on Seneca Lake and university weekends in Ithaca all cost more than the weeknights behind our figures. Holiday weekends often carry a minimum number of nights. The quote shows the real number for your dates before anything is held.
What the planning costs you
The campground or inn pays the office a commission out of its own rate. You never pay this office; no card number is requested through the site.
See the camping stay cancellation policy for what happens if plans change after you pay.
