Privacy policy of the office that reserves your gorge stay
This is the privacy policy of Croesus Canyon Camps LLC, the office behind this site. Effective date: October 26, 2026. Version 1. Publisher: Croesus Canyon Camps LLC, 3000 Mount Read Blvd, Suite 203, Rochester, NY 14616.
What this policy is
This page describes what information the office receives through the site and by phone, what it does with that information, and the choices open to you. It is written in plain English and is the complete statement of the office's practices for this site. Where a US state privacy statute applies where you live, the rights described below are the ones that statute gives you.
The office keeps as little information as it can and does not use the site to track visitors around the web.
The site itself is served over an encrypted connection. The office treats the information you send with the same care you would expect of a small travel agency with a street address and a telephone.
Terms used in this policy
In this policy, the office means Croesus Canyon Camps LLC, which runs the site. Personal information means information that identifies or reasonably could identify you, such as your name, email address, phone number or mailing address. Server logs means the routine technical records the server-side service keeps for each page it serves. Advertising platform means a company the office may use to show, measure or report on advertisements for the site.
Information the office collects
The office receives only three kinds of information. First, what you type into the request form or tell a planner over the phone: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, the gorge you have in mind, the style (platform tent, camping cabin or inn room), your dates, how many people will travel, and any note. Second, routine server logs kept by the server-side service for each visit, which include the visitor address, the request URL and the time, used for security and for keeping the site running. Third, if the office ever advertises the site, measurement data a campaign tool provides about how many people arrived from a particular advertisement, as described under Advertising below.
Categories under US state privacy laws
Where state privacy law uses defined categories, the office receives two: identifiers (your name, email, phone number, postal address if you later give it to a campground or inn to hold a stay) and internet or network activity information (routine server logs of pages your browser requested). The office does not collect sensitive personal information, biometric data, precise geolocation, or children's data. The office does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Why the office uses your information
The office uses the information you send to plan your stay and reserve it in your name. That is the only purpose. Nine specific uses fall under it: to answer your request and prepare options; to ask campgrounds or inns on your behalf; to pass your name and dates to the one you choose so it can hold and confirm your stay; to follow up by the channel you asked for; to keep a record of the completed stay for business and tax recordkeeping; to prevent misuse of the form and the site; to comply with the law; to transfer records as part of a sell-on, merger or reorganization of the office, if that ever happens; and, in combined form that does not identify anyone, to understand which gorges and stay types are asked about most.
How long each kind of information is kept
Request information that does not become a stay is deleted after twelve months. Records of confirmed stays stay on file for the span tax and business bookkeeping require: in practice, until seven years have passed from the close of the calendar year of the stay. Server logs follow the server-side service's own rotation, typically within thirty days. Backups follow the same service's schedule.
Who receives your information
Only two kinds of recipients: the campgrounds or inns the office asks on your behalf and the one you choose, which receives what it needs to hold and confirm the stay; and the form forwarding service that delivers your form submission to the office's inbox, which processes the content only to pass it on. The server-side service sees the technical routing of each page load. The office does not sell your personal information, and it does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies, browser storage and tracking
The site itself sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser's storage. It runs no analytics scripts of its own. If the office ever advertises the site, the advertising platform that serves or measures the advertisement may set a cookie in your browser under its own privacy terms, and this section will name that platform and the choice to decline it before it is switched on. Any such change takes effect only after it is named here.
How to opt out of advertising measurement
If and when the site carries any advertising measurement, you can opt out through the industry opt-out pages of the National Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org and of the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info, through the major advertising platforms' own opt-out pages, and through your device and browser settings that limit ad tracking. When your browser emits the Global Privacy Control header, the office treats that header as an opt-out instruction and honors it.
Do not sell, do not share
The office does not sell your personal information for money, and it does not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Under some state laws this activity is defined broadly enough that even measurement arriving from an advertising platform may count as sharing; where that applies, the office honors a timely opt-out through the links above or through the Global Privacy Control browser signal. If the office ever starts selling or sharing in the statutory sense, this policy will say so first, name the recipient and the categories, and describe the opt-out.
The rights state privacy laws give you
A US state privacy statute may give you these rights, depending on where you live: a confirmation of what the office holds about you, an exportable copy, correction of mistakes, deletion, portability, an opt-out from selling, an opt-out from sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, an opt-out from certain profiling, and an appeal when the office has decided against you. A handful of states add a right to restrict the use of sensitive personal information; sensitive data is not collected here, so no restriction is needed.
How to exercise a privacy right
Mail privacy-desk@croesuscanyoncamps.com and say who you are, which contact detail you gave the office when you wrote (an email, a phone number, or both), and which right you want exercised. A reply follows within 45 days. When the work does not fit that window, the office writes before the 45 days pass and takes a single further 45-day stretch. The office does not bill you for a request. The only exception is a repeated or clearly excessive one, and the office writes first before any fee is set. A denial comes with its reason in plain language and a route to appeal. Appeals close inside 60 days. A rejected request may also be taken up with the consumer-protection office in your state, and in those states where a dedicated privacy regulator exists, with that regulator too.
Children's privacy
The site is meant for adults planning trips. The office does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 and deletes any such information as soon as it learns of it. A parent or guardian who sees that their child has sent personal details to the office may write to privacy-desk@croesuscanyoncamps.com and ask the office to delete them.
How the office keeps your information safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Form submissions are received in an email inbox protected by a password known only to the office. Records of confirmed stays are held on the office's own computers and backed up by the service the office uses, under those services' own security practices. The office trains its planners to treat traveler information with care and never to share it beyond what this policy describes.
Visitors outside the United States
The office is in the United States and its computers and email service are in the United States. If you visit the site or send a request from another country, your information is transferred to the United States and kept here under US law and this policy. Where legally required to add safeguards for an international transfer, the office uses standard contractual clauses or the equivalent and will say so here.
Business transfers
Should the office, or the mailbox that receives its requests, ever change hands in a sell-on, merger or business restructuring, your information travels with it on exactly these promises. A notice is published on this page, and a direct letter follows wherever state law makes that mandatory.
Updates and version notes
The office may update this policy from time to time. The Effective date and Version number at the top of the page move with every update. A change that broadens the data the office takes in, or that opens new recipients for what it already holds, is posted here beforehand, and for the first thirty days after it starts the lead paragraph above describes it.
